Client notes: One of the fondest memories of my whole wedding experience must be the pre-shoot in the Lake District with Zeeshan.

I had been following Zeeshan’s work for some time, even before I knew I was going to get married. His classic style, natural shots and creativity drew me to him. I was beyond excited that he was able to shoot my wedding. Furthermore, Zeeshan reached out to do a pre-shoot with us. It was something new he was developing. Me and my fiancé took up the opportunity straight away as it would help us get comfortable in front of the camera.

Beforehand, Zeeshan gave a small brief that we should keep it casual. We both wore full black outfits, I wore a skirt and heeled boots, and he wore a blazer, so we clearly missed the casual memo. Zeeshan met us in the lake district and straight away his calm and collected personality shone through. He had a vision of what he wanted to create, and we just let him guide us.

We drove through various locations, stopping and shooting before climbing higher and higher up… we were literally in the clouds at the end! Like typical English weather it turned grey, the rain started splattering and my lovely curls stuck to my head. But somehow, it all added to the look. We automatically clicked with Zeeshan. I loved his style. He didn’t make us stand in awkward poses but let us walk and move freely and captured some stunning natural shots.

As it was Ramzan, he brought us homemade food to open the fast with. It was the sweetest gesture after a long day when we were hungry, tired and wet from the rain. I can still vividly remember the smell of the biryani filling up the service station as he heated it up. It was the perfect ending to the day.

I was in awe when I first saw the shots, that it was really us. I watched the reel countless times. My friends assumed it was an advert as they glanced through my Instagram. Everyone wanted to know who the photographer was. The pre-shoot was perfect in preparing us for the wedding as we knew what to expect.

Sadly, not many Asian photographers offer pre-shoots and not many couples realise the importance. Looking back at the shots a year later I cannot recommend the experience enough. It is one investment in your wedding you won’t forget and it will create memories to last a lifetime.
